Camden Hills State Park.. Mt. Battie
Mt. Battie, in Camden Hills State Park is one of Maine's most popular parks. The park is 5,500 acres and offers 30 miles of hiking trails with access from 5 major trailheads and a campground which includes picnicking, hot showers, modern restrooms and a rocky shoreline. Once you reach the higher elevations you are offered spectacular views of the charming New England Fishing village of Camden, the Penobscot Bay, Camden Harbor, and the beautiful surrounding mountains. Cadillac Mountain stands impressively to the east.
On top of the Mount sits a W.W.I stone tower which has a circular set of stairs on the interior.
Camden State Park's Mount Megunticook looks over the shoulder of Mt. Battie, at 1300ft above sea level. The climb is less than a mile and provides an inspired background to photos taken in many locations in the Camden Area, as well as, of the Mid-Coast from scenic overlooks.
Fee for a wedding at the top of Mt. Battie is $3.00 per person, that is the fee to enter the Park . Economically good choice for venue. Park can not be sectioned off to the public, but up there the world is a big and magnificent place room enough for everyone.
