Camden Amphitheatre
We have met several brides who have told us it was there dream since they were little girls to one day get married in the Camden Amphitheater. This is a fantastic little park, an outdoor theater made of stone and trees and grass, that overlooks the tall sailing ships of the harbor, where you may arrange with the Camden Public Library to have your wedding ceremony. We have seen many ceremonies at the park, some simple and some elaborate, but all charming. It is flanked by the brick colonial revival elegance of the library, with a beautiful fountain and opens to a gentle lawn that meanders down to the water and the waterfall where the mill stream empties into the harbor.
Designed by architect Fletcher Steele, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Camden Amphitheater is the perfect outdoor wedding venue. It is conveniently located in the Village historic district, and within easy walking distance of several inns, B&Bs and hotels, restaurants and the windjammers docked in the harbor.
It is a popular spot to get married, so it is recommended that you reserve your day as early as possible. To make arrangements you must contact the Camden Public Library.
