Obtaining a marriage license in Maine is not difficult. There is no longer a waiting period and the license is valid for 90 days. You do not have to be a Maine resident to be married in Maine. To obtain a marriage license in Camden Maine:
The Intention of Marriage application fee is Thirty Dollar ($30.00) made payable to the Town of Camden. The license to marry will be valid for 90 days from the application is received. The marriage license can be issued on the same day that the Intention is filed.
Both will need to sign the Original Marriage License in front of the Town Clerk at the Town Office. The Town Office is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm.
Photo ID such as a driver’s license may be required.
If this is not the first marriage for one of you, bring a certified copy (raised seal) of the divorce from or death certificate of the last spouse.
Applicants must be over 18 years old. Written parental consent is required for an applicant under 18. Written parental consent and written consent of a judge are required for an applicant under 16.
No blood test is required.
